It's time for the Nashville Alumni Association's first watch party of the year! Let's get the year started off right with a big watch party for Saturday's game against first-ranked Oklahoma!

Here are the details:

MIZZOU VS. OKLAHOMA
September 24 - Kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
Pie in the Sky Pizza - Vanderbilt Location
110 Lyle Ave • Just off West End between Courtyard and Hampton Inn
(Formerly Longhorn Steakhouse)

To make sure we have enough seating reserved for our group, I need to give Pie in the Sky and EXACT head count. Please let me know if you plan to attend by FRIDAY AT NOON.

Mizzou vs. Kansas Watch Party!

In the finale of the regular season for men's basketball, our Missouri Tigers will be taking on Kansas at home. If you can't make it to Columbia for the game, watching with the alumni group is the next best thing! We hope you'll join us for this exciting watch party!

Pie in the Sky has great pizza and appetizers and they even have 2-for-1 draft beers all day long! We will be on the closed-in patio. It's a lovely space and kids are certainly welcome.

Mizzou vs. Vanderbilt game recap

We had a great time watching our Tigers play at Vanderbilt in December. Unfortunately, we did not come out with a win despite coming close at the very end. Before the game, we had a pre-game party at the Holiday Inn. We had more than 100 people join us for the pre-game party and game. We were thrilled with the turnout!

We are thrilled to report that we sold 120 tickets for the Mizzou vs. Vanderbilt basketball game! We are excited about this fantastic response and look forward to seeing you at the event next week.

As a reminder, here is the information about the event:

Missouri vs. Vanderbilt
Wednesday, December 2 at 8:30 p.m.

Pre-game Event - 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Holiday Inn - Vanderbilt
2613 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203

For those who are planning to attend the pre-game event, we wanted to make you aware of a few things:

Food. Because of the overwhelming response, we've made some slight adjustments to the pre-game event at the Holiday Inn to better accommodate our group. Instead of offering a full menu, the Holiday Inn will provide heavy appetizers. Although there will not be a set cost for this, we would appreciate it if everyone would chip in a few dollars to help offset the cost of the food.

Parking. There will be free parking at the Holiday Inn on a first come, first serve basis. When arriving at the hotel, please tell the parking attendant that you are with the Mizzou Alumni group. Please park in the lot behind the hotel. You will be able to leave your car at the hotel during the game.
Game tickets. Everyone must come to the pre-game event to pick up your tickets.
Giveaways. We will also have a drawing for some great giveaways, including a basketball autographed by Mike Anderson! The autographed ball will be a special "members-only" drawing for members of the Mizzou Alumni Association. If you're not an MAA member, you can sign up at the game for a chance to win this great keepsake!

Our Mizzou basketball team is coming to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt - Don't miss this rare opportunity to see our Tigers in Nashville!

Here are the details:

Wednesday, December 2 at 8:30 p.m.

We have reserved a block of 75 tickets and tickets are only $13 each. In order to participate in this great deal, you must order your tickets online through the MUAA by November 15. CLICK HERE to purchase your tickets.

The tickets will be distributed at the Pre-game Event. You may purchase food and beverages at the event. All Mizzou fans will receive a 20% discount on food orders. Parking is free when mentioning the Mizzou Alumni event. We will be allowed to leave our cars at the hotel during the game.

We had a fantastic turnout at the Nebraska watch party last week! Nearly 50 people turned out for the event. It's just too bad our Tigers couldn't pull out a win. Here are some pictures from the event.

Mizzou Alumnus Comes to Nashville for Book Signing

Jan Kirsch, Mizzou alumnus and mother to Nashville Mizzou grad Daniel Kirsch, has written a memoir about her continuing battle with ovarian cancer. If you would be interested in talking with her about her experience, sharing your experience with this illness or a similar illness, or purchasing her book, please visit her at one of her book signings on Saturday, October 17. She will be at the West End Borders from 9:00-12:00 and the Cool Springs Borders from 3:00-5:00.

Her book, Winter Body, Summer Soul, is scheduled for review in the October issue of Missouri Life magazine. More information about the book and the author is also available here.

This book signing is not limited to Mizzou alums. If you know anyone else who might be interested in talking to her or reading her book, please forward this message to him or her.

Mizzou vs. Nebraska Watch Party

Mizzou is 4-0 and will be taking on the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Thursday! To celebrate this big game, we are having a joint watch party with the Nebraska Alumni chapter. This should create a fun atmosphere for the game. Here are the details:

Hi all,

I hope we can schedule a handful of football watch parties this fall. I'm assuming the Nebraska game on October 4 will be televised, so tentatively mark your calendars for that date. Once we have more information on the TV schedule, we'll be sure to set some watch parties up.
